1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the StatusVault Android application ("App") and related services, operated by the independent developer Binan ("Developer", "we", "us", "I"). By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
StatusVault is an Android utility application built with Expo/React Native that allows users to view and save WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business status media (images and videos) that are already present on the user's own device. The App operates entirely offline for media processing โ all status viewing and saving occurs locally on your device.
Important: StatusVault is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms Inc. "WhatsApp" is a registered trademark of WhatsApp LLC. StatusVault only accesses status files that WhatsApp has already saved to your device's public storage directory.
3. License and Permitted Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your Android device for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
You agree NOT to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, decompile, or reverse-engineer any part of the App
- Use the App to infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others
- Use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose
- Attempt to access, modify, or interfere with our server-side systems (hosted on Railway)
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its features
- Save or share content belonging to others without their explicit permission
- Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to interact with the App
4. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have permission to save and share any status content you download via this App
- Complying with WhatsApp's Terms of Service and applicable copyright, privacy, and data protection laws
- Respecting the privacy and intellectual property rights of status creators
- Keeping your Google account credentials secure (if using Google Sign-In for Pro sync)
- Maintaining a compatible Android device (Android 8.0+) with sufficient storage space
- Ensuring your device meets the App's technical requirements as listed on the Play Store
5. Subscription Plans and Pricing
StatusVault offers optional Pro subscriptions to remove advertisements. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable GST.

- All subscriptions are one-time payments (not recurring/auto-renewing subscriptions).
- Pro access is granted immediately upon successful payment confirmation via Razorpay.
- If you purchase while an existing Pro subscription is still active, the new duration is stacked on top โ you never lose a day you already paid for.
- Prices are displayed in INR. We reserve the right to change prices at any time; changes do not affect active subscriptions.
- Pro benefits include: ad removal, cross-device sync (via Google Sign-In), and priority email support (Yearly plan only).
6. Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a licensed payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). By making a payment, you also agree to Razorpay's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Supported payment methods via Razorpay:
- UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, BHIM, etc.)
- Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, American Express)
- Net Banking (50+ Indian banks)
- Wallets (Paytm Wallet, Mobikwik, etc.)
Security measures:
- Payment verification via HMAC-SHA256 signature validation on our Railway-hosted backend
- No raw payment credentials, card numbers, or UPI PINs ever touch our servers
- All API communication enforced over HTTPS with TLS 1.2+
- Firebase Authentication tokens required for all authenticated requests
7. Refund and Cancellation Policy
Exceptions โ we will issue a refund if:
- You were charged but your Pro subscription was not activated due to a technical failure on our end. Contact us within 7 days with your Razorpay Payment ID.
- You were charged twice for the same subscription period (duplicate transaction).
- The App is fundamentally non-functional on your specific device and we are unable to resolve the issue within 14 days of your detailed report.
How to request a refund:
- Email ahmedsameerbinan2@gmail.com with your Order ID, Razorpay Payment ID, and detailed reason.
- Refund requests are reviewed within 5 business days.
- Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method within 7โ10 business days.
Refund disputes can also be raised directly with Razorpay through their Customer Support Portal.
8. Free Tier and Advertisements
The free tier of StatusVault displays non-personalized advertisements served by Google AdMob (via the react-native-google-mobile-ads library). By using the free tier, you acknowledge and consent to the display of ads as described in our Privacy Policy and Google's Ad Technologies Policy.
Ad experience details:
- Ads are displayed as banner ads and occasional interstitial ads between actions
- Ad content is selected by Google's algorithms, not by StatusVault
- Pro subscription removes all ads for the duration of your active plan
- You can opt out of personalized ads via your Google Account settings
AdMob may collect anonymized analytics (ad impressions, clicks) and your Advertising ID (if permitted) as described in Google's Privacy Policy. This data is not shared with StatusVault beyond aggregate performance metrics.
9. Intellectual Property
All content within the App (excluding WhatsApp statuses, which belong to their respective creators) โ including but not limited to the UI design, source code, icons, logos, animations, text, and branding โ is the intellectual property of the Developer (Binan) and protected by Indian and international copyright laws.
You may not:
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the App's code or design
- Use StatusVault's name, logo, or branding without express written permission
- Scrape, copy, or republish content from the App or associated website
The App's source code is publicly available at github.com/binan-maker/WAStatusSaver under the terms of its open-source license (if applicable). This does not grant commercial redistribution rights.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation
- Compatibility with all Android devices, OS versions, or WhatsApp versions
- Continued access to WhatsApp status files (which depends on WhatsApp's storage implementation)
- Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content accessed via the App
WhatsApp Dependency Notice: StatusVault's ability to access WhatsApp statuses depends entirely on WhatsApp's current storage behavior. Future WhatsApp updates may change file paths, permissions, or encryption, which could temporarily or permanently affect StatusVault's functionality. This is outside our control, and we are not liable for such changes.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including the Indian Consumer Protection Act, 2019), the Developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, media files, or device functionality
- Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
- Claims by third parties related to content you save or share
- Any damages arising from WhatsApp policy changes or App Store decisions
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or โน100 (one hundred rupees), whichever is greater.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Dispute resolution:
- Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at ahmedsameerbinan2@gmail.com.
- If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Kerala, India.
- Consumer disputes may also be addressed through the National Consumer Helpline, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), or the Government of India's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) portal.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the App immediately ceases
- Any active Pro subscription is terminated without refund (if terminated for Terms violation)
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) shall survive
You may also terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the App from your device and deleting your account (if created) via Settings โ Delete Account.
14. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. The updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
Your acceptance: Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, we will provide at least 7 days' notice via an in-app notification before the changes take effect.
We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about our terms and policies.
